The SEED Annual Conference 2025 took place on the 27 th and 28 th August 2025 in Johannesburg. It convened under the theme “Environmental Engineering Across Diverse Spaces”. The event brought together leading professionals, academics, policymakers, and industry experts to explore innovative solutions in nature conservation, water and wastewater management, flood resilience, ecological infrastructure, and sustainable development. The programme inspired meaningful dialogue, fostered strategic partnerships, and sparked the exchange of transformative ideas. The 2025 Conference featured two distinguished keynote speakers. Ms. Mpendulo Ginindza from the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) – The Africa Chapter delivered a compelling address titled “Risks and Opportunities: Waste Reclaimers Sculpting the African Urban Landscape as a Circularity Force.” Dr. Roderick Juba from the Water Research Commission presented on “The Development of an Evidence Base for the Complementarity Between Ecological Infrastructure and Built Infrastructure.”
